Urgent: Are you with us?

November 15, 2016

Friend,

Like you, I am still grappling with the sadness, anger, and shock over the victory of a candidate who could not be more removed from our values, and the values of my daughter’s generation. This is a candidate who stirred-up bigotry, racism, and misogyny that has seriously divided our country.

My daughter and her peers by-and-large cherish diversity in all its forms. We owe it to them and those younger than them to stay strong and keep fighting for equality, to reduce bigotry and violence, and to show leadership in our rejection of racism and xenophobia.

We are facing unexpected and far reaching challenges to the gains we’ve made. We need your help now. Please contribute to our work

I have hope, not just because I know the youth will lead the way to a better future, but also because I know that through our work we’ve built a smart, strategic, and powerful network of leaders throughout the country that last year defeated more than 200 pieces of anti-LGBTQ legislation. We  are ready for battle to preserve our hard-won victories and secure more in 2017.

It is clear that our opportunities to push forward equality will rest largely at the state and local level throughout the next Administration, making Equality Federation’s work with our state groups like Equality North Carolina, Equality Pennsylvania, and Equality New Mexico ever more important.

We’re going to double down on our efforts to defeat anti-LGBTQ attacks at every level, train and educate people to speak out about their own experiences, and stand up for racial justice alongside our partners. We’re going to keep building on the unprecedented support for equality across the political spectrum. And we’re going to win.

It will be hard. We need your support like never before. Click here to donate now.

In solidarity,

Rebecca Isaacs
Executive Director
