The Victory Institute’s Movement Leaders Fellowship Now Accepting Applications for 2014

January 7, 2014

Our friends at the Victory Institute invite emerging LGBT nonprofit executives to apply to the 2014 Movement Leaders Fellowship.

Applications for Spring 2014 are due Monday, January 14th -- so submit yours today!

The Movement Leaders Fellowship is designed for executive directors of LGBT nonprofits who seek to expand their executive management skills, increase the efficiency and efficacy of their organizations and be part of a cohort of strong movement leaders across the country.

The LGBT movement has experienced many local, state and federal successes over the past few years. The Movement Leaders Fellowship seeks to sharpen the leadership and management skills of our movement's executive directors so they're ready and able to propel our organizations through an ever-changing social and political landscape.

Applicants to the Movement Leaders Fellowship must:

  • serve as an executive director of a primarily LGBT-serving nonprofit organization, have held the position for at least a year as of the start of the program (March 2014), and be committed to staying with the nonprofit for at least six months following the fellowship;
  • have an organizational budget of at least $350,000 and no more than $5 million; and
  • supervise a minimum of two full-time employees.

The Movement Leaders Fellowship provides complete tuition, travel and lodging assistance to cover the costs of the program. In return, participants are expected to attend and participate in the LGBT Leaders 2014 conference in Washington, D.C. These emerging leaders will be sent to Duke University's Nonprofit Management and Executive Leadership programs.

Applications for Spring 2014 are due Monday, January 14th – find out more and apply now!
