2020 State Equality Index

The State Equality Index (SEI) is a comprehensive state-by-state report that provides a review of statewide laws and policies that affect LGBTQ people and their families.

This year’s legislative victories set the stage for future advances to further LGBTQ equality. States continued to pass legislation that would protect youth from so-called “conversion therapy” and expand nondiscrimination protections to all LGBTQ people.
