New Director Alert!

November 18, 2024

We are pleased to announce Janeesha’s promotion from Events Manager to Director of Leadership & Capacity Building!

When Janeesha started at Equality Federation last April, it was abundantly clear how skilled she was. She dove into planning our signature event, the Leadership Conference, and within a few months, she transformed potential challenges into a radically welcoming experience, and every attendee felt the impact. It was easy to see how special a hire we’d made.

Janeesha brings a diverse background to the work—including corporate events, emotional intelligence and DEI facilitation training, and serving as a congressional intern and field representative to the U.S. House of Representatives—that enable her to have a deep understanding of leadership, capacity, and how to create spaces that adapt to and reflect the changing needs of our state partners. At Equality Federation, she has already leveraged her experience to grow our Leadership Conference, create impactful spaces for our Black Caucus, and facilitate continued work toward racial equity across the organization.

In her new role, Janeesha will design and sustain programs to build power in our network through strong, resilient, and adaptive leaders in sustainable organizations. She will also move into content lead for our annual Leadership Conference to meet the needs of our movement and members. We cannot wait for our state partners to experience Janeesha's warmth, joy, and dedication to the work. Congratulations, Janeesha!
