Member Resource: New Salsa Feature Allows Supporters to Donate Instantly Via Email

March 17, 2014

Good news for Federation members! Salsa has rolled out a new feature that will make donating to your organization even easier for your supporters. This feature, called Quick Donate, allows supporters to opt-in to a special service that will allow them to donate instantly to you through Salsa -- with no form needed.

How does it work?
To use QuickDonate, you first check the QuickDonate opt-in on your Salsa donation page. This will give your donors the opportunity to opt-in to the new service. This can be found in the “Amounts” tab of each donation page, seen here.

Then, as donors make their donations, they will register for a secure OneID account, which will allow them to use QuickDonate the next time they donate.

What about sending emails?
When it comes time to email supporters, you have the option in the targeting section of an email blast to send the email to only those who have opted in to QuickDonate, seen here.

In the content of your message, you can include QuickDonate links that you generate using a wizard in the email workflow. Click here to see how you can include a link to donate $25 instantly. If a supporter then clicks on the link and has a OneID account, all they will see is the confirmation page that their donation has been made. If they don't have a OneID account on the device, they'll be taken to the page to donate like normal.

This new Salsa feature makes donating to your organization even more convenient for supporters, and it allows you to easily target those who have already donated!
