Leadership Fellowship for Executive Directors

January 7, 2015

LGBT state organizations are led by some of the best leaders -- both new and long-serving executive directors who are working for change in their communities.

To develop the skills of these amazing leaders and their organizations, our friends at the Victory Institute are offering a fellowship just for LGBT nonprofit executives.

The Victory Institute is now accepting applications for the 2015 Movement Leaders Fellowship.

The Movement Leaders Fellowship is designed for executive directors of LGBT nonprofits who seek to expand their executive management skills, increase the efficiency and efficacy of their organizations and be part of a cohort of strong movement leaders across the country.  These emerging leaders will be sent to Duke University's Nonprofit Management (March 23-30, 2015) and Executive Leadership programs (October 12-16).

The Movement Leaders Fellowship provides complete tuition, travel and lodging assistance to cover the costs of the program. In return, participants are required to attend and pay for their travel, hotel and registration at the International LGBT Leadership Conference.

Applicants must:

  • serve as an executive director of a primarily LGBT-serving nonprofit organization, have held the position for at least a year as of the start of the program (March 2015), and be committed to staying with the nonprofit for at least six months following the fellowship;
  • have an organizational budget of at least $350,000 and no more than $5 million; and
  • supervise a minimum of two full-time employees.

Applications for 2015 are due Monday, January 19th – click here to find out more and apply now.
