Exciting Leadership Opportunity for Transgender People and LGBT People of Color

January 21, 2015

Our movement is led by some of the best and brightest individuals working hard to advance equality in the communities they call home.

To develop the skills of emerging, new leaders, the Victory Institute invites LGBT leaders of color and transgender leaders to apply to the 2015 Victory Empowerment Fellowship.

The Victory Empowerment Fellowship is designed for emerging LGBT leaders of color and transgender leaders who seek to expand their campaign skills and policymaking power and be part of a strong cohort of movement leaders from across the country. The Fellowship consists of two programs provided by the Victory Institute:

  1. Candidate and Campaign Training (2015, dates TBD): comprehensive, non-partisan training to present and future LGBT candidates, campaign staff and community leaders. Trainees learn necessary skills and strategies by engaging in tough, realistic campaign situations.
  2. LGBT Leaders 2015 (November 19 -22, 2015): The largest gathering of LGBT leaders in the world, the International LGBT Leadership Conference offers trainings, workshops, and networking opportunities relevant to both the current and future state of the LGBT movement to over 500 attendees. Participants leave able to more effectively craft policies and build coalitions to bring those policies to fruition, learning from the experts, but also from one another.

The Fellowship will pay for your flight, your hotel and your registration to come to these two programs, plus one-on-one support from Victory staff and hand-picked mentors.

Applications are due Tuesday, February 17th – click here to find out more and apply now.
