Cruel & Heartless: We Stand Against Trump's Attacks on Immigrants

September 5, 2017

President Trump’s announcement that he will end DACA, a program that protects undocumented young people who grew up in America from deportation, is a cruel and heartless attack on 800,000 families.

That any young person could be ripped away from their parents, siblings, friends, loved ones, and colleagues is the antithesis of the American promise of fairness and opportunity for all – the very reasons why many immigrants move here to provide a better life for themselves and their children.

For the estimated 75,000 LGBTQ young immigrants DACA protects, the consequences of ending the program could be especially dire, as they could face deportation to countries where their lives could be in jeopardy.
