Competitive Arizona Seeks Transgender Inclusion Organizer

September 2, 2015

Competitive Arizona is working to support a stronger transgender movement in Arizona and better integrate transgender issues and activists throughout Competitive Arizona’s work for LGBT equality.

In 2015, Competitive Arizona will be working to educate the public about the fact that it is still legal in Arizona to be fired from your job, evicted from your home, or turned away from a business just for being LGBT. Unfortunately, many people in Arizona do not realize that the LGBT community does not have clear discrimination protections. The Transgender Inclusion Organizer will work to continue engaging transgender individuals across Arizona in support of the nondiscrimination campaign.

The work is accomplished by (1) educating the public, business and corporate leaders, elected officials, and policymakers; (2) building coalitions and mobilizing allies; (3) increasing the participation of the LGBT and allied communities; and (4) organizing and empowering the LGBT community and their allies in urban, suburban, and rural communities across Arizona.
