POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Organizer is part of a large field team that is working to build public support for the freedom to marry by growing an intensive and large-scale grassroots field program and developing volunteer leadership. Specifically this position will focus on building and managing big volunteer teams that will build public support for marriage in Oregon.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous community, labor, student or related organizing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome obstacles.
  • Detail oriented and driven to succeed.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Commitment to building a multiracial team; experience working in multiracial environments; experience working with the transgender community.
  • Commitment to excellence and a strong desire to win.
  • Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel in-state.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit, mobilize and train volunteers to take action for the freedom to marry, including phone banks, canvasses, educational events, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Implement volunteer-led outreach and public education programs.
  • Raise money through individual donors, events, house parties and organizations.
  • Maintain systems to track volunteer participation; prepare project reports and work plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with experience, health benefits available.
