Garden State Equality
Garden State Equality is New Jersey’s only LGBT advocacy organization with full-time staff and three full-service offices. Since Garden State Equality's founding in 2004, New Jersey has enacted 154 LGBT civil rights laws at the state, county and municipal levels – a national record. “Garden State Equality could be a model for the rest of the country,” writes the Associated Press. In 2008, a film about Garden State Equality’s work won an Academy Award – a first in LGBT American history.
