The “bathroom initiative” will not be on Washington’s November ballot.
Supporters of Initiative 1515 have canceled their Friday appointment to turn in signatures at the office of Secretary of State Kim Wyman, according to a late Thursday statement from spokesman Dave Ammons.
The initiative would have rolled back a Washington State Human Rights Commission ruling allowing people to use restrooms, locker rooms and other facilities conforming with their gender identity. It would have codified restriction on the rights of transgender citizens. Read more here.
